Washington Cyber Roundtable Announces Theresa Payton Joining Board of Directors


Washington, DC September 11, 2018 —The Washington Cyber Roundtable (WCR) announced today the appointment of Theresa Payton, CEO of Fortalice Solutions and the first female White House CIO, to its Board of Directors.


“Theresa’s expertise in cybersecurity is renown across the industry,” said Dr. Barbara George, Executive Director of WCR. “The combination of her technical and business leadership skills will be an asset to developing the discourse on cybersecurity and to delivering value to government partners and industry members. I look forward to working with her as we continue to grow the WCR,” Dr. George said.


George Meyers, Chairman of the Board added, “Theresa is an outstanding addition to the board. Her experience in both the public and private sectors will advance the mission of the WCR to improve the nation’s cyber posture by facilitating communication throughout the industry,” Mr. Meyers said. “Her insight and perspective on the rapidly evolving direction of cybersecurity and how it impacts the government will be a welcomed addition to the WCR Board of Directors.”

About Theresa Payton

Theresa Payton is the CEO of Fortalice Solutions, a cybersecurity and intelligence consulting firm. As the first female White House CIO, she managed the IT enterprise for the president and staff of 3,000+ persons. Prior to her time at the White House, Ms. Payton was a senior executive in banking, spending 16 years providing innovative technical solutions.


Ms. Payton founded Fortalice in 2008 and lends her expertise to government and private sector organizations to help them improve their security posture. Ms. Payton was also featured as the Deputy Commander of Intelligence Operations in the hit show CBS’ Hunted.

Security Magazine named her one of the top 25 “Most Influential People in Security,” and she was recently named as the fourth most influential global security expert by IFSEC Global.
